Piano Lessons
Rates for Group of Four Lessons
$160 30 minutes ($40 per lesson)
$200 45 minutes ($50 per lesson)
$40 Introductory Lesson (30 minutes)
Lessons must be taken in consecutive weeks unless alternative arrangements are made beforehand.
Monthly payment due by the 3rd for students paying by the calendar month. Otherwise, payment is due on the first lesson of the four-week group.
Online lessons may be prepaid through Zelle or a check sent via online banking.
Lessons are conducted Monday through Thursday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Major holidays will be observed, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
Lessons will be given on the same day and time each week. This is the student's designated time slot. If any changes need to be made to the student's regular time, please inquire to see if another time is available for the following month.
Online lessons will be conducted via Skype. Students will need to set up a free account prior to their first lesson. Students should also log in to Skype a few minutes before their weekly lesson time in order to receive the teacher's call promptly. If the student is not online at the time the lesson is scheduled to start, the teacher will attempt to contact the parent. If the student is unable to begin the lesson within 15 minutes of their designated time, the lesson will be forfeited. The only exception to this is if there is a widespread internet outage affecting many customers. In that case, the lesson may be rescheduled.
Cancellation Policy
Lessons cancelled with 24-hour notice are eligible for a make-up. For example, if your child is sick, the lesson may be rescheduled to another day. Alternatively, the lesson may be made up by adding time to future lessons (i.e. two 45-minute lessons make up one missed 30-minute lesson by adding an extra 15 minutes to the next two lessons.)
Students may receive up to four credits per 12-month period for planned vacations or other absences scheduled at the beginning of the payment cycle. These credits cannot exceed one per three-month period. Any absences beyond this must be paid for at the regular rate in consideration of the teacher holding the student's designated time slot.
Make-ups may be given subject to the teacher's availability for lessons properly cancelled. No more than one make-up per month will be allowed. Any make-ups not used within 60 days will be forfeited.
If you wish to take a break or discontinue lessons, please provide two weeks notice.
Other Information for Online Piano Lessons
Students may use a piano or keyboard for their lessons. Keyboards must be full size with weighted keys. Please ensure students are seated at the proper height so that the keyboard is below their hands without lifting their elbows.
Students taking online piano lessons should use a computer or similar device with a large screen. Phones are not recommended due to their small size and instability.
Students will need to purchase a lesson book prior to their first lesson if they are a beginner. The teacher will discuss required lesson materials with the student or parent prior to the lesson. An excellent website for piano lesson books is Sheet Music Plus.
